Transdiscipniairy project (2026-2030)
Buro 2040 is a large-scale project by Arlon Luijten and Micha Hamel that brings to life the
problems surrounding the impending healthcare crisis. In this project, specific groups of professionals, experts (including those with personal experience), policymakers, scientists, and pioneers work on new perspectives, alternatives, and solutions. It is a transdisciplinary approach to an urgent transition issue.
Buro 2040 uses methods from theatre, serious games, media, and experience design as
learning and co-creation environments for both the general public and professionals and other
stakeholders. We make existing solutions tangible and develop new directions for solutions. In
doing so, we make a distinctive contribution to the necessary transition in healthcare and society.
An important aim of the project is to view the transition not as a problematic task, but as a positive challenge, possibly even leading to ‘transition pleasure’. Buro 2040's projects are therefore playful and activating, yet serious and ambitious at the same time.
